Anxiety is a day-to-day emotion; it is the brain’s way of reacting to stress and alerting the possible danger ahead. Everyone feels troubled now and then; for example, you may worry when confronted with a problem at work, before making a major decision, or before taking a test. Occasional anxiety is okay, but anxiety disorders are different. They are a group of mental illnesses that cause overwhelming and constant anxiety and fear. Excessive anxiety can make you avoid school, family gatherings, avoid and other social situations that might worsen or trigger your symptoms.
