Circular string

A circular string is a string that does not have an initial or terminal element; instead, the two ends of the string are joined together, and the string can be viewed as a necklace of symbols.

Circular DNA strings are appropriate for modeling circular chromosomes, which arise in the DNA of prokaryotes and Archaea. In fact, bacterial genomes are usually formed of a single circular chromosome, and plasmids are circular in shape as well.
