A character dividing ntaxa into two disjoint groups may be represented in array notation
by an arrayA for which we set A[i]=1 if the i-th taxon possesses the character and A[i]=0 otherwise.
Once we have a collection of characters in array notation, we can assemble them into a matrix called
a character table.
