Genetic code variants occur in different parts of the tree of life. For example, in bacteria and archaea, GUG and UUG appear commonly as start codons.
There is a generally accepted numbering of genetic code variants (translation tables), where 1 indexes the standard genetic code, 2 indexes the vertebrate mitochondrial code, etc. The list of genetic code indexes is available at NCBI's web site.
